Royal British Legion
New Royal British Legion memorial book dedication and the poppy run. Earlier this year Kevin Topham, a resident of Edingley and a long serving member of the Royal British Legion, carried out some research and realised that no formal record existed to record the names of all those from Edingley Parish who have served in the Armed Forces.
After consulting with the Parish Council Committee of St Giles Church he started to fundraise for a Memorial Book to be purchased. As part of his fundraising efforts he approached both the Southwell and the Farnsfield & District Branches of the Royal British Legion and received support. The Memorial Book was dedicated at St Giles Church in Edingley during the Evensong Service on 16th September.
The book will be on display in St Giles Church. Several members of the Farnsfield Branch are preparing to take part in The Poppy Run at Colwick Park on Sunday 28th October.
Details of the events can be found by going to www.poppy-run.com or by contacting Farnsfield branch by e mail at secretary@rbl-farnsfield.org.uk
