Meadow, New Road

On Monday week the meeting was opened by Mrs M. Cooper. Mrs M. Wood, Mrs B. Creasey and Mrs J. Pitt served refreshments. Tickets were sold by Mrs J. Dodsworth and Mr H. Alcock called bingo. A quiz was organised and called by Mrs M. Cooper and winner was Mrs M. Buchanon. Bingo winners were Mesdames M. Brailsford, M. Cooper, B. Creasey, P. Hutton, F. Meakin, J. Dodsworth, T. Jukes, and Mr E. Buchanon. Raffle winners were Mesdames M. Underwood, E. Haggarty, S. Layland, J. Marklew, M. Wood, M. Prior and M. Gladwin. Members celebrated the birthday of Mary Simpson.

St Andrew’s Church

Wednesday Vestry hour was led by Angela Penny. Bingo with Stephen took place on Tuesday and arrangements for Talk and Tea were finalised. The new sessions will take place on Mondays 15th Oct, 19th Nov, 17th Dec, 3-4pm. Everyone is invited. St Mary’s Church

Bell ringing took place at the church on Thursday evening and on Sunday a service with Communion was led by the Rev Hazel Robinson who later read from the gospel. Old Testament readings were by Vivienne Tansy and Mary Harris read from the New Testament. Marilyn Brown gave the sermon and John Robinson led prayers. Music was played by Gordon Foster. Kyra-Leigh Yates, Gracie-Anne Holmes, Danielle Louise Hessey and Rowan Newton Jones were baptised in the afternoon.

Methodist Church

On Wednesday evening Karen O’Hara resumed her weekly prayer meeting. On Saturday morning Ann and Tricia and the breakfast team raised£100 for church funds. Alan Darlington led an All Age Worship service on Sunday week. Vanessa Crane played music. Flowers were donated by Helen Dennis and welcome steward was Ann Daines.

Walking Group

Members met at the Dog & Duck at Old Clipstone and walked to Vicar Water in Clipstone. Everyone is welcome to join the group and the walks are free. Ring Linda and leave your mobile number for a weekend text for the next walk, 07703631816.
