Chairman David Ramsdale welcomed 23 members to Tuesday week’s meeting. Raffle winners were Bunty Dixson and Betty Marshall. Bingo caller was Celia Smith. Twenty-seven members attended Friday weeks meeting. Raffle winners were Brenda Wilderspin and Janice Hopper. David Ramsdale, Celia Smith, Irene Westerman, Maureen Abbott and Jean Corkish. Social Whist Drive
Seven members and friends attended Wednesday week’s meeting at Burton Court Centre. Raffle winners were Laurie Mudd and Peggy Gilbody. Whist winners included Ken Corkish, David Ramsdale, Celia Smith and Jean Corkish. New members are always welcome.
Secretary Stephen Smart welcomed members and public to annual show held Sunday week in the Village Hall. Judgers were veg and fruit section, Brian Burrows; home produce, preserves, children’s section and adult craft Mrs Sandra Burrows. Flowers and flower arrangements Mr Dale Hall. Trophies went to: Large dresses onion Stephen Smart, Apples Jill Ashley, Flowers fuchsia George Cooper, Flower arrangements(Harvest basket)Sandra Fleet. Foliage arrangement (seedheads,berries and foliage) Sandra Fleet. Home Produce (Victoria Sponge) Sandra Dawn. Preserves (lemon curd) Julie Newan. Stewpot (collection of stewpot veg) Stephen Smart. Adult craft (photo warer theme) Sandra Fleet. Mini flower arrangement (in cup and saucer) Carol Measures. Single rose Stephen Smart, Basket of fruit Sandra Fleet. Children’s section Painted stone(poppy fields) winner Evie Johnson.
St Margaret’s Church
Holy Communion was led by the Rev Richard Seymour- Whiteley who led prayers and preached. Reader was Carol Brown and Gospel reader was Andrea Clark. Intercessions were read by Sam Clark who also tok the elements to the Altar with Andrea Clark. Jacqueline Brown helped with distribution and took the offertory. Sunday school was taken by Joan Wood. Hospitality greeters were Sam and Andrea Clark and Rachael Clark. Organist was Derek Reaney.
Eight badgers, 10 cadets and 11 adults attended Wednesday week’s meeting with Jonathan Holmes in charge. Badgers studied the subject ‘hungry’ with adult members Mellisa Austin and Leia Hollingworth. Cadets planned the next term with Sylvia Wilson. Competition practice was taken by Geoff Goddard and Trevor Knott. Duties were discussed by Sharon Austin.

Royal British Legion
The Garden Party took place at the home of Robert and Jaine Smith The fundraising event for the Bilsthorpe Branch raised £464.40. Entry ticket winners were Sandra Burrows and Nan Devonport.
Over 50s Club
Chairman David Ramsdale welcomed 37 members to Wednesday week’s meeting at the Welfare. Dance MC was Denis Teather and bingo caller was David Ramsdale. Members enjoyed the horse racing theme game arranged by Joe Lowde, Katie Towle and Becky Kemp. A quiz arranged by Bill Lamb was won by Colin Dodsworth. Refreshments were provided by Margaret Heath who was celebrating her birthday. Raffle winners were Katie Towle, Becky Kemp, Jean Higgins, Mary Bradley, Fred Brown, Margaret Heath, Agnes Heron, George Heron, Denis Teather, Christine Benn, Sheila Cotterill, Monica Powell, Connie Roberts, Melvin Bradley, Jean Jarvis, Brenda Wilderspin, Rita Dodsworth and Jenny DeBoer.
