All Saints’ Annesley

Tuesday afternoon Open Door members celebrated Dick Beardsley’s birthday with a buffet in the Church Hall. Wednesday afternoon church was open for visitors and Mothers’ Union members met in the hall – guest speaker was the Rev Dr Elizabeth Davies on “This is my story”. Thursday evening PCC members met.

Friday afternoon So’n’Sew members met. Saturday morning Men’s Breakfast Group visited Southwell Minster; in the afternoon a War Songs Sing-a-long was led by Rebecca Turner-Loisel and her university friends, cream teas were served by the ladies with proceeds of £530 raised going to Help for Heroes.

Sunday morning Sung Eucharist with Act of Remembrance was led by the Rev Liz Turner-Loisel andthe Rev Kevin Charles, crucifer was Graham Leaver, poppy wreaths were placed on the altar by Michelle Thompson from Annesley & Felley Council, Jake and Rosemary Shatliffe, Betty Runacus and Barbara Harvey, lesson readers were Hilary Broughton and Betty Runacus, the Act of Homage was by John Longdon and a two minutes’ silence was observed, the last post was played; sidespeople and sacraments were taken by Christine Verity and Ann Pugh, prayers were said by Barbara Harvey, chalice was administered by Su Charles and the Rev Kevin Charles, organist was Peter Hart, refreshments served by Yvonne and Geoff Mason.
