All Saints Church

Tuesday afternoon Open Door members had lunch at Forest Road Methodists. On Wednesday morning the Vicar and members led a Harvest service at Annesley House; the church was open for visitors in the afternoon.

On Friday afternoon So’n’Sew members met; in the evening 75 members enjoyed a Pie and Pea Supper followed by trifles and gateaux then held a Beetle Drive led by Geoff Mason. On Saturday the choir sang at a wedding.

Sunday morning Sung Eucharist and Harvest Festival was led by the Rev Kevin Charles who blessed the Harvest Loaf before placing it on the altar; crucifer was Graham Leaver, lesson readers were Eileen Clarke and Molly Clay, sidespeople and sacraments were taken by Thomas and Joanne Burkitt and Brenda Hallam-Allsop. The Rev Liz Turner-Loisel preached the sermon and rededicated the organ together with a plaque and photo of Jack Amott who had been organist for 40 years, membersof his family attended the service

The chalice was administered by Rev Liz and Molly Clay; altar flowers were in memory of Carol Longdon and Barry Lawson, organist was Peter Hart, refreshments served by Yvonne and Geoff Mason and birthday greetings were sung to Diane Smeed and Brian Hallam-Allsop.
