Trinity Methodists

Last Monday week, the Home Fellowship met at the home of Mary Marsh, for Bible study. The young people joined together for a practise of their forthcoming pantomime. On Wednesday morning the Toddler group met in the schoolroom, followed by the Bright Hour in the afternoon. Mrs Cilla Marsh chaired the meeting, and the Rev Clare Burl visited and gave a talk. In the evening, the young people’s group, Engage, met. On Thursday evening, the young people’s group, React, met. On Friday afternoon, the Rupert Group met at the home of Joyce and Steve Cree. On Saturday, the Christmas Fair took place, with a variety of stalls and refreshments. On Sunday morning, the church was visited by Charlotte and David from the Maniwadanca Group. They spoke of the group’s work with young girls who are forced into prostitution at a young age, and how they help them to start new lives. The young people of the church, had recently raised some money for the group, and during the service they gave the readings.

Peafield Church

Last Sunday week, the service was conducted by Ian Munro, Margaret Munro led the prayers and Beryl Blagg gave the reading. Refreshments were served by Margaret Munro, Joan Hobson and Jean Hobson.

Triangle Group

Last Thursday week, 22 members attended the meeting at Turner Hall Lounge. Ruth Marriott collected subscriptions, and Joan Davies chaired the meeting. The group was visited by Jodie Henshaw, from Mansfield Museum, who after a short talk, held a quiz with artefacts. Refreshment hostesses were Barbara Eames and Ellen Cauldwell. The raffle winner was Joan Davies. The members discussed their stall at the Mansfield Woodhouse Christmas Event on 8th December, starting at 12noon in Turner Hall. The Triangle stall is to be in aid of this year’s chosen charity, The MS Wheelchair Ambulance Appeal.

The Christadelphians

Last Sunday week, the service, held at the Church of the Brother’s and Sisters in Christ, was a ‘Spiritual Bring and Share’. A reading from Phillipians ch.3, was given by Sally Burton, and Tony O’Connor gave the thought for the day. Carol Burton read the prayer of intercession. The music was provided by Tony O’Connor on guitar and John Bennett on the organ. Steward was Maurice Trynor. Last Wednesday morning, Margaret Bennett led the Tots and Toys Group. Bible Class was conducted by Carol Burton.
