Co-op drive for charity

AROUND 600 people attended a fundraiser at Southwell Racecourse in aid of Mencap, one of the UK’s leading disability charities.

The event was organised by Co-operative Motor Group and raised more than £2,000 for the cause.

The money will allow The Co-operative’s chosen charity of the year, Mencap, to team up with its sister charity ENABLE Scotland and open up a brand new programme called Inspire Me.

The programme will help people aged 16-25 with a learning disability to overcome any exclusion or prejudice they may face. One of the winners at the event was Matthew Hooper, manager of The Co-operative Bank in Mansfield.
