Clipstone Community Gala takes place this weekend on the football field off Church Road.
Admission to the event is free, and it runs between 11am and 5pm.
There’s a coal queen competition, childrens fancy dress, best cake maker competition, a tug-o-war and duck racing, among other highlights.
For those who live locally, people are asked to leave cars at home and walk to the gala as there is very limited parking.
There is limited disabled parking next to the field but people must have a blue badge which will be checked by stewards.
Organised by the Clipstone Colliery Regeneration Group, the day is aimed at celebrating the group, people and heritage associated with the village.
A spokesman for the group said: “Come and attend Clipstone Community Gala and give your support to not just our group but the British Legion, Brownies, Guides, Rainbows, Army cadets, the World War One group, Sure Start, the Colts football team, brass bands and the Red Rhythm dance academy.
“All of these groups are based in the village. Here’s your chance to find out more about the groups and what they do. Please come along and enjoy the day.
“People are being encouraged to get more involved in the community.”
