Clipstone nursery praised after Ofsted inspection

A DAY nursery in Clipstone has been given a ‘good’ overall rating by inspectors who praised its staff and relationships with parents.

Ofsted said Vicar Water Day Nursery, on Mansfield Road, should be commended after finding children were ‘strongly valued’ and well cared for.

The Treetops Nurseries-owned centre caters for a maximum of 75 young children and was visited by the watchdog last month.

In a report published last week, Ofsted said children at the centre are ‘respected as individuals with care and learning tailored to their individual needs and preferences’.

The report also said: “Staff foster excellent relationships with parents and work co-operatively with other organisations and professionals to the benefit of individual children.”

Although it was rated ‘good’ overall, several aspects including its engagement with carers and parents were graded ‘excellent’.

The report adds: “All children make good progress in their learning and development because staff create a rich and stimulating indoor and outdoor environment.”

Resources are also of an ‘exceedingly high quality’.

To further improve, inspectors added, the nursery should swap more information with other providers of care for its children, to ‘better promote consistency and continuity for these children’s learning and development’.
