Choral Society aiming to hit the high notes

MEMBERS of Mansfield Choral Society will be in fine voice on Saturday 9th July when they perform at the town’s Queen Elizabeth School as part of the school’s 450th anniversary celebrations.

The programme of music will include popular favourites like Borodin’s Prince Igor, Tippet’s Negro spirituals from A Child of our Time and Rutter’s Birthday Madrigals.

Mansfield soprano artist and former Cantamus singer, Lucy Allen - who is currently studying at the Royal College of Music in Glasgow and a previous winner of the John Ogdon Music Award - will also be performing on the night, as will young musician Sam Hucklebridge.

l The concert starts at 7.30pm and tickets cost £10, including wine or a soft drink, £5 for 12-18 year olds and free for under 12s.
