Choirs to join forces for Alfreton concert

Award-winning choirs are set to join forces for an evening of harmonious entertainment.

The Alfreton Male Voice Choir and the Sawdlincote-based Gresley Male Voice Choir will stage a combined concert totalling 75 voices for a special performance this March.

The concert will be staged in front of a prestigious audience including the HM Lord Lieutenant of Derbyshire, William Tucker and his wife, together with the Mayor of Amber Valley, Coun Angela Ward.

The two choirs last performed together in Burton-on-Trent in 2012.

Both have been established since the early 1900s and have, at various times, been festival prize-winners as well as raising substantial sums for charity work.

The concert is planned for 15th March at Alfreton Grange Arts College, on Grange Street, Alfreton, starting at 7.30pm. Tickets are £7 will be available in early February.
