CHAD journalist Stephen Thirkill is to give a talk on his first book at the popular Lowdham Book Festival

Stephen, who has writtenTourist Trails in and Around Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire will appear on the ‘Out and About in Nottinghamshire’ bill in front of a packed audience at Methodist Chapel .

He will give his talk on writing the book, the reasons behind it and the delights of being a first -time author between 10.30am and 11.30am.

Also on the bill will be a talk by Matt Beresford on Creswell Crags, The Robin Hood Way and Peter Mortimer’s Made in Nottingham book.

Said Stephen: “This is the first time I have been invited to attend the festival as a speaker and I am deeply honoured to have the invite.

“The festival is a highlight of the local literary calender and to be a part of it gives me a real buzz.

“I’m pretty nervous about the prospect of getting in front of so many people to talk about my experiences, but I’m delighted to have the opportunity.

“I’m sure it will be a day to remember for me and I hope people enjoy my talk.”
