CHAD reporter Stephen Thirkill was a guest speaker at The Lowdham Book Festival this weekend.
Stephen was invited to attend the festival to speak about his Tourist Trails book as part of Out and About in Nottinghamshire event.
He was one of four speakers who have written books promoting the county, with other titles including a book on The Robin Hood Way and another on Creswell Craggs.
The festival included a talk by TV presenter Ben Fogle and ran throughout June.
Tourist Trails was produced by Chad to promote tourism across the county.
The book profiles seven attractions, including Chatsworth House, Clumber Park, Southwell Workhouse and Hardwick Hall..
Said Stephen: “This is the first time I have done a talk like this so I was very nervous at the start.
“But as the talk went on I felt a lot more comfortable and was delighted with the response I got in the Q and A session at the end.
“People seemed to be really interested about how we went about writing and producing the book.
“The Lowdham Book Festival is high profile across the county and it was a real honour to have been invited to speak.
“I would love the opportunity to appear at the festival in the future.”
