The Mansfield Building Society is again inviting applications from local community focused groups in need of financial assistance. The Society’s Community Support Scheme is open to those involved in improving quality of life in Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire.
The scheme is specifically targeted at groups involved in sport, the arts, education and youth development, environmental issues and those helping the elderly or disadvantaged.
Product Manager, Pete Doherty, says: “We have already awarded approximately £5,000 this year alone and we are keen to encourage additional applications ahead of our next community support panel meeting in November for which we have budgeted another £5,000. We know that financial help can be difficult to come by in these economically challenging times but we want to do everything we can to help local initiatives that improve quality of life in our heartland.
“Typical awards range from £100 to £500 and applications are considered twice yearly by our community support panel which includes independent membership.”
Scheme details and an application form can be obtained from any Mansfield Building Society branch or online at www.mansfieldbs.co.uk
