NEWSTEAD Abbey’s beautiful grounds were turned into a bloody battlefield when the Sealed Knot paid a visit to the historic attraction over the Diamond Jubilee weekend.

A three-day re-enactment of an English Civil War battle saw the Roundheads take on the Cavaliers in a realistic and thrilling showdown that went down well with the crowds.
