WOMEN from Ashfeld and the surrounding area who took part in the Women Who Do project were invited to celebrate their achievements at Ashfield District Council’s offices in Kirkby last month.
Sonia Harvey from Blidworth-based Mandarin Creative Solutions and Dawn Broome from Eazi-move in Kirkby gave presentations on their work and encouraged women to pursue their goals.
The Women Who Do project has provided a range of activities aimed at women considering a change of direction and the support has included mentoring and workshops as well as goal setting and business planning.
Michelle Woodley, who has benefited from the project, said: “As a result of the course I gained the impetus to start my own business and I am now using my skills as a fully qualified sign writer to design and make traditional hand painted signs.”
