The first punnets of strawberries are available to buy at Brooke Farm shop in Linby - just in time for Wimbledon.
Manager Ian Holland explained: “Due to the good weather so far this year we have a bumper crop of strawberries for sale, which are perfect for a summer’s day in the garden.
“We also have other fruits coming up next month to pick such as raspberries, blackcurrants and gooseberries.”
Brooke Farm is a commercial enterprise growing vegetables and plants for sale to the general public.
Customers can buy pre-packed strawberries or can pick their own at the farm, which is run by Nottinghamshire County Council and employs staff with mixed abilities and offers training to people with disabilities.
‘Pick your own’ strawberries are £1.99 per kilo or £3.80 per kilo if purchased from the farm shop.
