Train maker finds a new Sutton base

An Ashfield Council regeneration service has enabled Train maker Bombardier to move into new premises at Sutton, safeguarding 61 hi-tech jobs.

The electronics division of Derby-based firm successfully found new premises on Castlewood Business Park.

Bombardier took advantage of the free and confidential commercial property search service offered through Invest Ashfield & Mansfield, which is delivered through Ashfield and Mansfield District Councils’ Regeneration Shared Service.

Ashfield District Councillor Jim Aspinall and Alison North, Invest Ashfield & Mansfield project manager visited Bombardier’s new premises on Monday.

Coun Aspinall said: “I am absolutely delighted to have had the opportunity to visit this high-tech company,

“It is exactly the type of business that we want to help promote and attract to our area.

“We are looking at training programmes to improve the skill levels of our local workforce which will enable us to attract companies like Bombardier to the area.

“The team has who have worked extremely hard to bring this company to Ashfield.”
