Confectionery company Bonds, of Sutton, is toasting the sweet taste of success after landing a prestigious accolade.

Bonds has been named company of the year at the business and industry awards run by the highly-acclaimed magazine and online publication, ‘Business And Industry Today’.

The award, which was given for dedication to the industry and growth over the past 12 months, is the icing on the cake of a bumper 120th anniversary year for the firm.

“We are absolutely delighted to be named company of the year,” said managing director Philip Courtenay-Luck. “It has been a fantastic year, and with substantial investment planned in a number of areas, this is a really exciting time for the business.”

Although branded as Bonds Of London, the company actually operates from a plant at Fulwood Rise in Sutton where it employs 83 people. Many of its original 1895 recipes for making hand-made sweets are still used in today’s products, which include novelty confectionery ideal for gifts.
