RESIDENTS living in Teversal and other rural areas of Ashfield are being urged to get involved in a campaign to secure faster broadband connections as soon as possible.
In February, we reported that people living in the village were frustrated by the slow and intermittent internet speed.
Householders, particularly those who rely on the internet to run their own businesses, said they would have been happy with 2mbps (megabits per second) - but some reported that they were receiving just half of that.
Last month, Nottinghamshire County Council launched its Superfast Broadband in Notts campaign.
Council chiefs estimate that around 116,000 properties across the county have no broadband or slow connections. In Ashfield there are around 3,400 premises with connection problems.
Government grants, along with cash from the county council and Ashfield District Council, are set to fund the scheme.
