A HOUSE said to be in a ‘deplorable condition’ on Murray Street in Mansfield, a water damaged bungalow in Stanton Hill and an area of woodland in Bolsover were among 18 properties and sites sold by auction at The Towers in Mansfield recently.
Around 250 people attended the event staged by specialist land and property auctioneers W A Barnes. Only one lot remained unsold.
More than 50 people viewed the Murray Street property, which eventually sold for £67,000.
There was also plenty of competition for a building plot at Burton Rise in Annesley from both self builders and speculative developers resulting in a sale at £65,500.
Chartered surveyor and auctioneer Tom Smith said “More and more executors, trustees and administrators are turning to our auctions as their preferred method of sale.
“The auction process enables them to liquidise a property asset within a defined timescale and proves that the property has been sold at the highest price achievable on the day.”
W A Barnes is now accepting entries for the May Auction.
