IN less than six months, Mansfield’s latest networking group The Tuesday Club has gone from strength to strength.

Since its first event was held at Mansfield’s Vhojon restaurant in March, nearly 80 different people have attended meetings - representing nearly 60 different businesses.

Members travel from Nottingham, Chesterfield and Sheffield as well as Mansfield, Ashfield and Bassetlaw to network in an informal and relaxed environment at some of the area’s finest restaurants.

The group, founded by Chad editor Tracy Powell and Graham Parker of Parker PR, has led to new partnerships forged at a time when the country is still struggling to come out of the economic downturn.

Said Graham: “I think the success of the Tuesday Club rests with the members and their approach to wanting to build profitable relationships with each other.

“One of the members told me that it’s the informal formality that works for them, which is something I would not argue with at all.

“People like the sociable and welcoming atmosphere we create and it’s a great way to end a working day.

“I know of at least half a dozen companies that have won new business at our meetings and several more that have found new suppliers; I have struck up a new partnership with Vault Studios to work together to promote both companies.

“It’s also a great way to dip your toe in the networking pool as there is no pressure to perform or grab as many business cards as you can.

“I think the added value of having the Chad as a partner cannot be overstated.

Tracy, echoed Graham’s words, saying: “Our meetings are proving to be very beneficial to the businesses who attend.”

“We have provided a local platform for people to expand their contact base and to widen their network of like-minded people to partner up with and to do business with.”

“It all takes place in a relaxed and very informal atmosphere and is light-hearted but with a serious goal - to get Mansfield and Ashfield working together to make our area a stronger, more attractive and more profitable place to live and work.”

The club is also on LinkedIn, under The Tuesday Club and currently has 41 members. Why not sign up and join our discussions.

l The next Tuesday Club takes place at the Lambs at the Market, on Nottingham Road, Mansfield, on 9th August, starting at 6.30pm.
