BANKING group NatWest and West Notts College have backed this year’s Chad Business Awards, snapping up sponsorship of two of the most important categories.

NatWest is endorsing the manufacturing award as the countdown continues to the third instalment of the prestigious event.

Chris Bodger, director, commercial banking for NatWest in North Nottinghamshire, said; “The NatWest business and commercial banking centre on Southwell Road West, together with our branch-based relationship managers in the town and throughout Nottinghamshire, provide relationship-based banking to businesses across the county that have a turnover of up to £25m.

“NatWest has a strong team of experienced, locally-based business and commercial relationship managers.

“This team of relationship managers aim to become trusted business advisors to their customers by offering strategic guidance and advice, in addition to core financial products.

“Our core products include loans, overdrafts and deposit accounts.

“We can also provide customers with access to more specialist products available within the RBS Group including invoice discounting, asset finance, international trade finance and private banking.”

West Notts College is also on board, sponsoring the young business person of the year accolade.

Said college principal Asha Khemka: “West Nottinghamshire College is proud to sponsor the young business person of the year award.

Currently 20 per cent of the UK’s 16 to 24-year-old population is unemployed. “As the country faces up to the challenges of the economic climate, young entrepreneurship has never been more critical to our success than now.

“West Nottinghamshire College is passionate about developing young talent and recognises the need to nurture and support young people, providing them with the business acumen to turn their aspirations and dreams into reality.

“This award celebrates those innovative, driven and committed individuals whose achievements are a true inspiration to others.”

This year’s awards - run in conjunction with Specsavers in Sutton - will once again showcase the cream of business talent from across Mansfield, Ashfield, Bolsover and Newark & Sherwood.

There are 14 awards up for grabs this year and the competition is open to organisations of any size based in Chad’s circulation area.

We are looking for companies who think they are working harder and smarter than their competitors to create a business edge.

Entries can come from people nominating their own business or from third parties - with winners decided by an impartial, respected panel of judges. All winners will receive a trophy and the right to use the awards logo on letterheads and marketing information.

The awards take place at a glittering ceremony at the John Fretwell Sporting Complex at Sookholme on Thursday 24th November.
