A Mansfield hairdressing salon has been shortlisted in three categories at the prestigious 2014 British Hairdressing Awards.

Mark Leeson, who has already been nominated for British Hairdresser of the Year, has also been shortlisted for the British Colour Technician of the Year, while art director Shaun Hall is a finalist for the Eastern Hairdresser of the Year.

The Mark Leeson team, based on Regent Street, has also been shortlisted for Artistic Team of the Year, a title which they have won for the last two years running.

Mark said: “It is an incredible honour for myself and the team to be shortlisted for these awards. I am so incredibly proud of Shaun and the team. It was fantastic to win the Artistic Team title last year.

“To retain this title for a third year running would be an amazing feat and testament to their immense passion for their work.”

The level of creative expertise shown by the Mark Leeson team has made them worthy finalists in what are the ‘Oscars’ of the hairdressing industry.

The entries consisted of four photographic images that showcased their talents within their chosen hairdressing speciality.

Judged anonymously and independently by iconic industry names, Mark, Shaun and the Mark Leeson Art Team will now submit a further four images to create a collection of eight that are again judged to reveal the definitive winners.

These creative talents will come together to celebrate the industry on Monday 24th November at The Grosvenor House, a JW Marriott Hotel.

A celebrity compere will host the event and the final award to be announced will be HJ’s British Hairdresser of the Year 2014.

Executive director of Hairdressers Journal International, Jayne Lewis-Orr, said: “Congratulations to all our finalists on their achievements to date as the level of work submitted by Mark Leeson and his team was exceptional, making it a difficult task for our highly respected panel of judges.

“The work of these individuals sets the benchmark for creativity and ensures that British hairdressing receives the respect it so rightly deserves.”
