A growing firm has taken on extra staff after booming business meant locating to bigger premises.

Vicky Mercer (36) relocated her Uppercut hair and beauty salon from Victoria Street in Stanton Hill to just around the corner at 11 High Street.

After eight years on Victoria Street she needed to move to bigger premises to accommodate the growing number of customers and to expand her services.

As a result of the move she has taken on three new employees and is already looking at recruiting another one later this year.

Ashfield MP Gloria De Piero visited the new premises and was full of praise for Vicky and her team when she heard about how the salon is going from strength to strength.

She said: “It’s fantastic to see young business women like Vicky being successful and creating new jobs for people in the district.

“It is this kind of entrepreneurial spirit that needs support and I wish Vicky and her team all the very best for the future.”
