MORE than 100,000 homes and businesses in Nottinghamshire remain in the internet slow lane with broadband speeds of less than 2Mbps or none at all, according to a new report.
An Ofcom study says one in five properties in the county, predominantly in rural areas like Newark and Sherwood but also in other pockets across the area, are lagging behind.
Nottinghamshire County Council’s Superfast Broadband in Notts campaign was launched last month and has already received almost 3,000 pledges of support from frustrated residents and businesses.
The campaign aims to get at least 5,000 pledges by the autumn. Visit www.nottinghamshire.gov.uk/broadband to get involved.
