Brewers Fayre searching for Alfreton area’s unsung heroes
Castlewood Brewers Fayre at South Mormanton has announced a bursary scheme to support the unsung heroes of the community, following the success of similar campaigns in 2009 and 2010.
The 2012 Local Heroes initiative aims to recognise those who give their time to improve the lives of their fellow local residents.
A spokesman said: “So, if you know any volunteers in Alfreton who are tireless in their charity work, or maybe a group of people who help to run the Neighbourhood Watch and keep your community safe, or even someone who spends every weekend training the junior Sunday League team out of the goodness of their heart, then nominate them for a Local Hero award today.
“Those nominated will be in with a chance to be awarded a share of a £10,000 pot that can be invested towards continuing their community projects within the area.”
To nominate someone for this year’s awards all you need to do is visit the Brewers Fayre website www.brewersfayre.co.uk/localheroes and fill in the online entry form. Alternatively, complete an application form at your local Brewers Fayre restaurant describing why you believe your nominee deserves to be honoured for their work and the amount that could really make a difference.
Emma Price, spokesperson for Brewers Fayre commented; “Previous awards allowed us to support some very worthy winners and we can’t wait to do the same again this year. It’s so important to recognise those people around the UK who devote their own time to helping good causes. The Brewers Fayre Local Heroes bursary is intended to ensure that the fantastic work they are doing can continue for many years to come.”
