A BLIDWORTH printing firm has scooped a prize for innovation at a software company’s awards event.
The Prime Group, of Unit 2, Ansec Business Park, Burma Road, was winner for most innovative use of variable data at the Pageflex User Conference in Boston, USA.
The company got the award by creating a programme for DHL allowing them to automatically redraw maps with new routes.
DHL approached the company to create maps showing routes worldwide that their aeroplanes use.
At the time the freight company was paying to have its maps redrawn every time it added or stopped using an airport. This was costly and time consuming.
Tammy Butler, Prime Group marketing manager, said: “Prime Group used the Pageflex software to create an online shop that allows DHL to simply input all their airport codes and it automatically draws the connecting lines.
“For Prime Group the award means that they have established themselves as experts in using Pageflex in innovative new ways.
It establishes Prime Group at the forefront of the print industry that incorporates new digital technology with traditional print.”
