MANSFIELD mayor Tony Egginton is pictured getting a few top tablet tips from Mansfield’s new Apple product expert, Danny Sherratt.
Danny mans Apple’s ‘store within a store’ at at the combined Currys and PC World superstore off Nottingham Road, having been trained up by the famous computer hardware and software brand.
Danny started work at the store two weeks ago following a deal between Currys PC World and the international technology firm.
He said: “Things are going well so far - I think customers customers appreciate having some one who they can come and talk to face-to-face about any issues they might be having.”
And as well as being on hand to answer technical queries about the products, Danny organises free workshops at the store which people can attend to find out about the latest features.
“The workshops tend to focus on the latest Mac software and features but we do have an open question and answer session where we discuss other Apple products like the Iphone 4S.
The appointment is a boost for the superstore which was opened by Mayor Egginton in May, when Currys and PC World were refurbished combined to form a 47,500 sq ft megastore.
Store manager Dave Simpkin say the appointment was ‘massive’ for Mansfield.
“This store was one of the first to have its own Apple expert and there are only eight or nine others in the country.
“I think it’s absolutely great news and it shows that a huge firm like Apple sees a lot of potential in Mansfield.
“It is great to have someone on hand who knows the products inside and out.”
