AN Alfreton family business which sells self-watering containers and planters is celebrating after gaining a second major order to India.
Amberol, based at The Plantation on King Street, has exported a range of horticultural products to an importer based in New Delhi.
It supplies a range of containers, including self-watering containers and planters to councils, schools and businesses.
The order was placed after an India-based importer spotted some Amberol barrier baskets in Stafford town centre and then contacted the company at its Alfreton headquarters to place the orders.
Amberol’s marketing manager John Williamson said that he was pleased the company was continuing its global expansion.
“Our self watering range has proven very popular in the diverse Indian climate,” he said.
“As in the UK, they are used for both internal and external displays because they save water by minimising evaporation and reduce maintenance costs.
“I’m also told that the granite and sandstone colours look great in the intense light of India.”
