Brass bands set for royal appointment

A TRILOGY of brass bands will help communities around Pleasley celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee in style on 4th June.

Pleasley Miners Welfare Band, Blidworth Welfare Band and Bolsover Re-union Band will perform in the Brass Band Trilogy Proms Concert from 6pm on the playing field to the rear of Pleasley Miners Welfare.

Performing songs such as Land of Hope and Glory, Jerusalem, You’ll Never Walk Alone and Men of Harlech, the trilogy is expected to last around three hours and provide a fitting tribute to the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations.

The event will take place at Pleasley Miners Welfare for the children’s theatre and land to the rear of the welfare for the outdoor music and proms concert.

The Babbling Vagabonds Children’s shadow puppet theatre will perform from 2pm and Joe Moore an Accoustic Singer/Songwriter will be performing at 3.30pm to help keep the crowds entertained.
