Bolsover District Council is launching its new hockey sessions in Bolsover to help girls and women get back into sport or take up a new one.

The Back2Hockey sessions will start from 6pm tp 7pm, on Monday, September 2, at The Bolsover School, Mooracre Lane, for girls aged 14 and over and women.

Sessions will take place on the outdoor Astro Turf Pitch and are aimed at encouraging ladies to get back into the sport which they may have played at school, college or university, as well as providing an opportunity for individuals to try the sport for the first time.

Individuals are encouraged to bring a drink and wear shin guards should they have them. Hockey sticks can be borrowed but if participants have their own stick they are encouraged to bring this with them and the first session is free and afterwards they cost £3.

The Back to Hockey sessions are funding from Sport England and provide a gentle introduction or re-introduction to hockey and provide a great opportunity to make new friends and enjoy training and playing in a friendly and relaxed environment.

Those interested telephone (01246) 242364 or email enquiries@bolsover.gov.uk to register.

The Council also stages other Back2Sport sessions including basketball and rounders and for more information please telephone 01246 242364.
