Bird-ringing event at Rufford

A demonstration on how to ring birds to help with scientific observations is being held at Rufford Abbey Country Park tomorrow (Saturday 11th January).

Visitors can join the members of the Birklands Ringing Group as they operate a ringing station in the wetland area from 8am until 12 noon.

They can get close up views of birds in the hand as they are ringed, aged and sexed before being released unharmed back into the wild.
