Nottinghamshire County Council’s planning and licensing Committee will not now consider a planning application for the incinerator at its meeting on Tuesday, 21st October.
The planning application, made by Peel Environmental, will now be considered at a later date, to be confirmed - probably within the next month.
New national planning policy and supporting guidance on the disposal of waste was released by the Government this week.
The previous advice has been referred to extensively by planners in their report, which the committee had been set to discuss.
Sally Gill, planning group manager at Nottinghamshire County Council, said: “We regret the late postponement of consideration of this application, but the timing of the release of this new advice - which includes issues directly related to the proposals - has left us with no option.
“In the interests of fairness to both the applicant and to the people who object to the application, it is imperative that Planning and Licensing Committee members are able to consider the very latest advice.”
Tuesday’s planning and licensing committee meeting at the Talbot Suite, Rufford Country Park will still go ahead to deal with other reports.
The agenda is available to view on the Council’s website at www.nottinghamshire.gov.uk
