Cyclists are asked by police to keep their eyes open for two distinctive bikes stolen from Kirkby-in-Ashfield.

The bikes were taken from a vehicle parked in Wheatley Avenue between 10.30pm on Thursday 8 August and 5.40am on Friday 9 August 2013.

One of the bicycles is a black and red Ribble men’s racing bike with a black seat, black and red tyres and a carbon fibre frame.

The second is a Trek SL racing bike with black and silver frame. The bike had a plastic water bottle holder and black seat bag.

PC Phil Broughton said: “We are asking people to be keep their eyes open and contact us if they think they might have seen the bikes or if they know more about the theft.”

Police urge the public to ensure garages and sheds are secure and that bikes are locked up using heavy duty bike chains.
