A drunk man stole a bicycle seat from outside a supermarket - but admits he can’t even remember doing it.

Luke Freeman (30) of Mappleton Drive, Mansfield, pleaded guilty at Mansfield Magsitrates’ court to taking the seat - worth £40 - from outside Tesco Jubilee Way South.

Probation officer Cheryl Nisbet said: “At the time he can not remember doing it as he was under the influence of drugs and alcohol. He saw CCTV footage of himself and admitted it straight away.”

Matt Green, mitigating said: “It wasn’t planned. He can’t remember doing it.”

He was given 12 months community order with 12 months supervisio, a 9 months drugs rehabilitation requirement. He was also ordered to pay £85 costs and £15 victim surcharge.
