Beer enthusiasts will be able to enjoy up to 40 real ales, including ten from overseas, during a 19-day festival at four pubs in and around Mansfield.

The overseas beers on offer have been sourced from brewers in Japan, Lithuania, Holland, Australia, Canada, Italy, USA and Belgium.

The festival will also feature beers from across the UK, including speciality beers (ingredients include heather, grapefruit and elderberries), as well as beers brewed exclusively for the pubs.

It will run from Wednesday 24th October until Sunday 11th November inclusive, with all beers priced from £1.89 to £1.99 a pint.

The participating pubs are; The Court House in Market Place and The Widow Frost in Leeming Street and The Stag & Pheasant in Clumber Street, all in Mansfield, as well as The Picture House in Fox Street, Sutton in Ashfield.

The overseas beers on sale are; Thirsty Beaver Amber Ale (Tree Brewing Company, Canada), Baltijos Red Ale (Svyturys Brewery, Lithuania), Tutto fa brood (Birra Del Borgo, Italy), Australian (Feral Brewing Company, Australia), IJBok (Brouerij t ‘IJ, Holland), Minagof (Toshi Ishii, Japan), Steenbrugge (Brouwerij Palm, Belgium), 3 Point 5 Session Ale (Avery Brewing Company, USA), Heather Ale (Cambridge Brewing Company, USA) and Tongorlo (Brouwerij Haacht, Belgium).

The UK beers will include; Ghost Train (Box Steam), Moonraker (J.W.Lees), Crafty Devil (Thwaites), Squadron Scrabble (Tring), Howling Wolf (Banks’s), War Horse (White Horse), Hopocalypse Vale (Vale), Gunpowder Mild (Coach House) and Kookaburra (Cotleigh).

The Court House manager, Rachel Hannah, said: “The festival will give people the opportunity to enjoy a superb selection of UK and international beers.

“We will be serving the largest selection of overseas beers ever available in the pub, together with a fantastic range of UK beers.

“Many of the beers on offer have not been available in the pub beforehand and I am looking forward to serving them.

“The festival promises to be great fun and I am certain that customers at The Court House will enjoy themselves.”

Customers will be able to sample any three of the real ales in special third-of-a-pint glasses for the price of a pint.

Tasting notes on all of the beers will be available in the pubs.
