A light-hearted take on the General Election, based on the reality TV show, ‘Snog Marry Avoid’, has put one of Ashfield’s candidates top of the polls!
IllicitEncounters.com, the UK’s leading dating website for married people, asked 500 of its members which politicians they would most like to cheat with, divorce their spouse for or avoid.
And ex-GMTV presenter Gloria De Piero, who will be standing for Labour in Ashfield, came first in one of the categories. For 35% of men questioned said they would divorce their wives to be with her!
Mrs de Piero (42), who hails from Bradford but is of Italian descent, is described by IllicitEncounters.com as “the stunning girl next door”.
“She comes from a humble background and aims to challenge the negative views of politicians,” says spokeswoman Claire Page.
“Beautiful and intriguing, it is not surprising men would leave their wives for her.”
Quite whether the poll will boost or harm Mrs De Perio’s election chances is unclear. Her opponents -- Simon Ashcroft (UKIP), Mike Buchanan (Justice For Men And Boys), Helen Harrison (Conservative) and Philip Smith (Liberal Democrats) -- are not understood to be members of IllicitEncounters.com!
For the record, the politician women would most like to get a divorce for is Nick Clegg, while Boris Johnson is the one they’d most like to cheat with and UKIP leader Nigel Farage tops the ‘avoid’ category with 64% of the votes.
