Residents of Ashfield are being offered a helping hand after the Christmas period to dispose of their Christmas trees.

Ashfield District Council is offering a free kerbside collection of real Christmas trees, which will be taken from the boundary of residents properties and taken for composting.

This service will only be available to residents of the district who have pre-arranged, and is for real Christmas trees only.

Collections will be undertaken on the same day as the black or green lidded bin collection during the week commencing 7th January 2013.

If the tree is around six feet, it must be cut into two. Trees must be placed out by the side of the bin by 6am.

To arrange a collection please call 0800 183 8484 or fill out the online form at: www.ashfield-dc.gov.uk/php/contact_forms/xmas_tree_collection_2012/
