ASHFIELD MP Gloria De Piero has criticised the Government’s Regional Growth Fund, saying it had ‘not delivered a penny in Ashfield’.

The MP had written to the chancellor George Osborne and it was revealed that no Ashfield projects had benefited from it.

During the House of Commons debate on Wednesday, she asked: “What changes will the chancellor make to ensure that my constituents benefit from the Regional Growth Fund?”

Responding to the question, Mr Osborne offered to look into the Ashfield situation. He said: “We have put more money into the fund and made substantial transport improvements, which I hope will benefit businesses in her constituency.”
