BOSSES at Ashfield District Council have announced that Ashfield Homes will remain the managers of the authority’s housing stock.
Councillors took the decision last night (Thursday) after debating a range of options for the ongoing management of council homes.
The recommendation will place a number of conditions on Ashfield Homes including the achievement of a minimum of £2.1m savings over a period of five years.
In addition, Ashfield Homes will remove all duplication of functions and share services with the council and provide a full and comprehensive review of the Management Agreement with Ashfield District Council by the end of September 2011.
Any changes to the Management Agreement will be subject to consultation with the Department of Communities and Local Government
In addition, comments will be sought from the Ashfield Homes board in relation to the proposals in the report and any further proposals for achieving savings and options for income generation.
