AN ASHFIELD Homes officer has scooped a regional award for her ‘outstanding work’ with tenants.
Jeanette Worthington picked up the gong for tenant paticipation officer of the year at the Tenant Participation Advisory Service awards, held in Solihull recently.
Kelly Scott, assistant director of housing services said: “At Ashfield Homes we have a strong commitment towards Tenant Involvement and this is something that we believe in as a company, putting the tenants at the heart of everything we do.
“This is a fantastic achievement for Jeanette personally and I would like to thank the members of Ashfield Federation of Tenants and Residents Association for nominating Jeanette for this prestigious award.”
Jeanette was up against four other large landlord organisations in the central region.
The tenant participation officer has been involved with a number of Ashfield Homes initiatives including the Spade Aid Project and Trailblazers, which encouraged young people to help maintain communal areas.
She is a regular face at tenants and residents association meetings and conversation events and hosted an anti-social behaviour conference.
Jeannette attended the event with Kevin Hornsby, Ashfield Homes tenancy services manager, as well as a group of tenants and residents who knew about her work.
She has now been invited to the next round of the competition to be held in Birmingham on Thursday 28th July to determine the overall national winner.
