Arsonists set fire to hay bales in Kirkby
Arsonists are thought to have set fire to hay bales in a Kirkby farmers’ field in the second incident in the area in two days.
Firefighters from Ashfield took more than an hour to extinguish 15 bales of hay at 9.23am today.
The fire in the field off Birch Tree Crescent came after a similar incident last night off Wheatley Avenue.
A fire service spokesman said the fires had been started deliberately.
