Today is the British Heart Foundation’s ‘Ramp up the Red’ day to raise awareness about coronary heart disease - the UK’s biggest killer.
Around 82,000 people die from the condition every year - one in five men and one in eight women - and the Ramp up the Red campaign aims to raise awareness and funds to find new and more effective treatments against hear disease,
Residents are being encouraged to wear red for the event and raise as much money as they can.
