Police are appealing for information and issuing advice after large amounts of fuel were stolen from vehicles around the region, including South Normanton.
The most recent took place sometime between 8pm on Wednesday, 9th October and 3.15am on Thursday, 10th October. Diesel was stolen from a lorry parked in a lay-by on the A616 at Barlborough.
During the same night diesel was stolen from a digger on Fordbridge Lane, South Normanton.
There have also been three reports of the fuel caps on vehicles being damaged.
Both residents and local businesses and firms are advised to reduce the risk of having fuel stolen by parking securely, in a garage or busy, well lit area and to fit and use a locking filler cap.
Anyone with information about the incidents should contact Derbyshire police on 101, the non emergency number, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
