Annual fun run nets £2,000 for drink and drugs charity

Mansfield-based charity Hetty’s held its annual fun run at Brierley Forest Park on the 6th July.

The event was held to raise much-needed funds for the drug and alcohol misuse awareness charity, based in Woodhouse Road.

Runners also came along to raise cash for a host of other charities at the run, which was started by Mansfield Mayor Tony Egginton.

A charity spokesman told Chad: “We had many fun runners who were supporting Hetty’s and we also had other charities joining us on the day.

“It was a 1.5 mile course around Brierley Forest Park and the sun shone on us all.

“Hettys are estimating that we will have raised £2,000 in sponsorship.”

The charity thanked Tesco for sponsoring the event and providing each runner with a goody bag.

Runner Taz Graham was first over the finish line.
