Students at West Notts College were able to learn the art of unicycle riding, stilt-walking, juggling, tight-rope walking and plate spinning at a session delivered by Dodgers Circus Workshops of Mansfield.
The higher education curriculum’s activity week, which started today (10th January), provides students with the opportunity to try something different, meet other students in the school of learning and get involved in team-building activities.
HND Interactive Media student Natasha Phillipson said: “I didn’t quite master walking on the stilts but I’ve tried plenty of new things today and had lots of fun. It’s been great to meet other students on the university-level courses and I look forward to seeing them around college.”
Activities continue this week with a group who will be volunteering with Sherwood Forest rangers on Wednesday to tidy up the woodlands, a sports learning day at Leeds Metropolitan University on Thursday and a ghostly overnight vigil at Derby Gaol on Friday.
