All quiet for festive fire strike

Notts Fire and Rescue Service say they experienced a quiet night during the Christmas Eve strike action by Fire Brigades Union (FBU) members with just a few incidents requiring a response by emergency crews.

The Service received 8, 999 calls during the strike period between 7pm and midnight, only three of which required an operational response.

FBU members will be on strike again on New Year’s Eve from 6.30pm to 12.30am and on 3rd January from 6.30am to 8.30am.

Members of the public are again urged to take care at home and on the roads during strike periods.
