Portfolio holder for regeneration at the council, Coun Jim Aspinall, said: “These courses are part of the wider regeneration plans for Stanton Hill.

“The courses are “taster” courses which will offer people a great chance to meet new people while learning new skills. If there is the demand, further courses will be provided to develop people’s employability skills.”

Peter Rowley, team leader for adult and community learning at the college, said: “Our community learning team provides more than 300 courses in local venues across Ashfield and Mansfield every year.

“We’re always looking to expand our provision by delivering the types of courses that people want, and in locations that are convenient to them.”
