AN amateur theatrical group is seeking talented actors and actresses to be part of an Andrew Lloyd Webber musical when it comes to Mansfield.
Mansfield-based Masque Productions amateur theatre group hope to bring smash hit Whistle Down The Wind to the Palace Theatre in November.
Andrew Wolden, spokesman for the group, said: “We are looking for local talent, in particular, black actors, actresses and singers as the show is set in 1950s America’s deep south during a time of racial tension.”
The show is based on a novel by Mary Hayley Bell and tells the story of 1950s America’s deep south during a time of racial tension.
Whistle down the Wind is based on the novel by Mary Hayley Bell and tells the story of a young girl who discovers a man hiding out in a barn.
She believes he is Jesus Christ so she and the town’s other children vow to protect the stranger from the world outside.
Mr Wolden added: “We are thrilled to be one of only forty societies in the UK to be granted permission to perform this wonderful show.”
